Types of Native POP3 Connector licenses and their distinction

There are various types of licenses for different quantities of mailboxes and server licenses:

  • The SBS License—for Microsoft Small Business Server
  • The Exchange Server License– for Microsoft Exchange Server Standard Edition.

Licenses for N mailboxes establish restrictions on the quantity of POP3 user accounts equal to N and do not have the possibility to use global (Catch-all) mailboxes. If you do not need that function, then a license for N mailboxes will be sufficient for you.

If you do require the use of global (catch-all) mailboxes, then you will need to get one of the server licenses. The quantity of mailboxes for server licenses is unlimited.
