MAPILab Special: How to open blocked attachments in Microsoft Outlook after installing the KB980376 Security Update
After installation of Security Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007/2010 (KB980376) from July 13, 2010, opening linked file attachments in Outlook fails with the following warning: "Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments".
Also, the same problem can occur with Microsoft Outlook 2002/2003.
But we would like to inform all our users that this problem has been already solved in Attachment Processor for Outlook add-in.
New version of the add-in (v.4.3.2) allows you to unblock the shortcuts to get access to saved and extracted attachments.
Attachment Processor for Outlook includes 3 great features:
- allows extracting attachments from incoming messages and save them to your hard disk (extracted attachments are replaced in the incoming message with a link to the file stored on your disk, or with a text file with the attachment description as well and a link to it);
- allows automatic archiving attached files by ZIP, both in incoming and outgoing messages. It can create self-extracting archives and password-protected archives.
- allows managing the list of attachment types, which are blocked by the Outlook security system (for Internet Mail only).
You can review the detailed description and download the newest version of the add-in at the Attachments Processor homepage.
